According to ANTI-CORROSION, Vol. 33, No. 1, 1986, the corrosion resistance of structural materials is required to be good in the refining and petrochemical industries because of the wide variety of environmental conditions and their strong corrosiveness. However, the performance of standard austenitic stainless steels widely used today can not fully meet the requirements of these industries. In response to this situation, in recent years a lot of new stainless steel varieties have been developed abroad. In order to facilitate material selection and to learn from the development of our country’s stainless steel products, this article hereby introduces the performance and application of three kinds of newly developed duplex stainless steel and a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel.
