The standard therapy for ovarian cancer does not change much in patients with adverse top. The New York-based Sloane Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), with traumatic surgery and intraperitoneal administration of cisplatin, is embarking on an ambitious new multidisciplinary study to explore new treatment options. In the United States, 18,000 women suffer from ovarian cancer each year and have a high mortality rate, more than the total number of deaths from uterine and cervical cancer patients.
