桑植县洪家关贺龙故居的右前方,有一座木石结构的瓦屋桥,横跨在汩汩流淌的泉河之上。这座桥长40米,高、宽各7米,桥顶装饰着雕龙飞檐,桥上排列着长廊圆柱,座座石狮环列在桥的周围,风格古朴,气势雄伟(见封底照片)。早先,这里并没有桥,来往行人只能赤足徒涉,不少人因此丧命。担水放牧的少年贺龙,看到这种情形,多次向他父亲贺仕道提出:一定要在河上修一座桥。在贺仕道的倡议下,洪家关的乡亲们纷纷捐工献料,终于修起了一座桥.命名为“永安桥”。贺龙就是在建桥的那年三月,带领二十名青年农民从桥头出发,用两把菜刀砍开了芭茅溪盐税局,拉起了队伍,开始了武装斗争活动。
