个体户,最初是个贬义词,在20世纪80年代初期,它基本上就是待业青年的代名词,是和主流社会格格不入的。但偏偏就是这帮人,赶上了中国改革开放的第一波,赶上了流通领域的市场化。1969年,对中国来说是颇不平静的一年——这一年的3月,在中国的北疆珍宝岛上,中苏再起武装冲突,战争阴云笼罩全国;4月召开的中共九大,弥漫着强烈的个人崇拜和“左”的狂热气氛。
Self-employed, initially a derogatory term, was essentially synonymous with unemployed youth in the early 1980s and incompatible with mainstream society.
