After experiencing the wave of modernist architecture, some of Europe’s oldest historic districts still blend in harmony with modern culture with their own unique architectural language. Any kind of architectural language can be refined and abstracted into a symbol, and architecture is the use of a variety of symbolic language to express themselves. Rajska avenue in Krakow, Poland, and the cultural and arts center “Matopolska Art Garden” in Szujskiego Street, the highest achievement of Kraków’s architecture in 2012, use a contemporary architectural symbolic language that combines the past two institutions: The Jullusz Lowacki theater and the Malopolska Volvodeship’s library are well integrated to create a new space order that combines the abandoned gardens and architecture of the 19th century.
