In order to explore what kind of math textbooks will enable students to achieve better development, we have experimented with textbook reform in two classes of two schools since autumn of 1982. In the fall of 1985, the experiment was expanded to 14 classes in five schools. Two rounds of experiments ended in 1988 and 1990 respectively.
