回顾北京的新年音乐会,得从1992年元月1日和2日中央歌剧院为庆祝建院40周年举办的首届新年音乐会谈起。这场音乐会由旅欧青年指挥家余隆执棒,除演奏了约翰·施特劳斯的《蝙蝠》序曲、《皇帝圆舞曲》及《雷电波尔卡》等维也纳新年音乐会的传统曲目之外,还演奏了斯美塔纳的交响诗《沃尔塔瓦河》和拉威尔的《波莱罗舞曲》等管弦乐名作。音乐会的品味较高,余隆和歌剧院交响乐团的表现亦颇受听众好评。音乐会获得成功后,余隆成为中央歌剧院连续三届新年音乐会的指挥者。从此,北京的新年音乐会便如雨后春笋,一哄而起,蜂涌而上,乃至多到令人应接不暇的地步。如各种名目
