Mongolia divides the world into two parts, belonging to (peace) objects and war objects. For non-returned areas and people, they will continue to be conquered by force until their return. Kublai Khan tried to launch two maritime conquests from 1274 to 1281 for those who refused to return, but the result failed. After that, the Mongol ruling class formed a perception that “Japan is the only enemy.” Based on the dichotomy view of the world recognized by the Mongol ruling class, the appearing country, Koryo, is regarded as a part of Mongolia’s ruling field. And since Korai was the closest country to Japan in the easternmost part of the Mongolian territory, Japan naturally commissioned Koryo on a number of related matters when it was first conquered. Koryo recognizes Japan’s importance for its own existence and uses this to help itself as a starting point in negotiations with Mongolia. As a result, Koryo became the target of Mongolian ruling class to implement the assimilation ideology and the diplomatic object of expectation of engagement.
