近年来,公众健康问题成为媒体关注的重要内容,尤其在2003年春夏 SARS 流行期间,大众传媒在传递相关信息方面发挥了重要作用。但许多专家指出,由于医疗卫生与大众传媒分属不同学科领域,长期以来在学理方面存在交流障碍,在实践方面的合作也不够。医疗卫生界人士对大众传媒的特性认识不足,对自身的新闻资源缺乏了解,难以及时将有价值的信息提供给媒体,也未能建立起公共卫生信息发布的权威渠道;媒体从业者则缺乏医疗卫生方面的专业知识,未能建立公共卫生报道的基本科学规范,在发布医疗卫生新闻信息时,时常出现及时性和准确性方面的欠缺。
