陈少白(1869—1934)字少白,原名闻韶,号夔石,广东新会人。1869年(同治八年七月廿日)出生于江门市郊外海镇南华里一个基督教牧师家庭。陈少白六岁入私垫,天资聪敏,勤奋好学,习字、念书、学写诗文均是同窗中的佼佼者。到少白步入青年时,适逢美国教会哈巴牧师来广东开办广州格致书院(即岭南大学前身)。1888年开始招生,少白第一个报考,并被录取入学。读书期间,陈少白的三叔陈麦南
