国际著名地质学家许靖华教授,在青岛参加了地矿部海洋地质研究所聘请其为名誉顾问的仪式以后,于8月19日至21日由何起祥所长等陪同,先后考察了临朐县山旺盆地和莒南、日照一带的蛇绿岩.许先生抵山旺后,受到山旺化石保护管理所所长王保忠同志的热烈欢迎,参观了展室和有关化石标本,并针对一些脊椎动物化石的埋藏特征,提出了古环境变化的若干可能性分析.他对祖国河山有这样好的化石记录,感到自豪和高兴,对国家重视化石保护表示赞赏.他建议加强研究,扩大对外交流,使之成为一个国际注目的研究场所.许先
