在蛀穗玉米螟危害严重的年份，玉米果穗受玉米螟为害后比未受危害的玉米穗腐病显著严重，玉米螟蛀穗造成的穗腐病菌危害百分率远大于其它因素，但对穗腐病菌的抗病性仍然是影响穗腐病发生的最主要因素。
