AIM: To investigate whether the protective effect of ischemic preconditioning on ischemia-reperfusion injury in small intestine is mediated by K (ATP) channel opener. Methods: The mesangial artery was pretreated with brief and repeated clamping to observe its effect on long-term Ischemia-reperfusion injury in the intestine, and the mechanism of action was further explored by K (ATP) channel opener-filled Crohn’s and antagonist glibenclamide (Gli). Results: Reperfusion injury in the small intestine was protective and its effect was demonstrated by Cro and was abolished by Gli. Conclusion: The protective effect of preconditioning on ischemia-reperfusion injury in small intestine is mediated by K ATP channel opener.
