INTRODUCTION A significant portion of the ingot output undergoes one or more cold deformations after hot rolling. The benefits of cold deformation are manifold. In practice, cold deformation can not only make products quickly and economically in the form and specifications the user wants, but also can increase the tensile strength of the metal. The method used and the degree of deformation depend on the steel’s ability to be cold drawn, the finished product’s specifications and the final properties. Some of the most commonly used methods of deformation, such as cold rolling, have undergone intensive research.
