作为女性作家的翘楚,简·奥斯丁的作品总是被文学评论界打上“女性主义”的烙印和标记。然而,在笔者看来,简·奥斯丁首先从狭隘的选题上刻意堵死了优秀女青年们的自谋生路,引导读者们相信当时的女性只剩下“体面地嫁人”这条唯一出路;其次,在女主角的性格塑造上又简单粗暴地复制和推崇男性品性,并遵循传统士绅价值观把女性分为上中下品。因此,她创作出来的女主们虽然生动活泼、性格分明,但却也与无知无觉的平常女性无异而最终只能沦为男性主流社会的依附者和寄生虫。简·奥斯丁仅仅是用她犀利的语言和聪慧的头脑继续教唆女性同胞麻木的待在男性为其打造的“黄金屋”中舔舐伤口。
As a leader of female writers, Jane Austen’s works are always branded and tagged by literary critics as “feminism.” However, in the author’s opinion, Jane Austen deliberately blocked the self-seeking career of the elite young women from narrowly selected topics and guided the readers to believing that only the women were “decently married” This is the only way out. Secondly, the characterization of the heroine simply and crudely reproduces and respects male character, and follows the traditional values of gentry to classify women as middle and lower class. Therefore, although she is a vivacious and dispassionate female hostess, she is also similar to ordinary women without any sense of knowing, and can eventually become the dependents and parasites of male mainstream society. Jane Austen continued to abet the feminine compassion of her fellow nurses in her sharp language and bright mind to lick their wounds in the “Golden House” that men built for them.
