人类对客观事物的认识是多变和复杂的，其复杂性在人类的语言表达中表现为游移不定和模糊不清的特性。语言的这种模糊性十分普遍，因而引起越来越多的语言学家们的注意。本文试图通过对某些英语语言现象的分析，说明语言的模糊性是语言发展变化的内在本质属性，也是语言的生命力所在。但我们同时强调对语言模糊性的研究绝不是对语言的“精确性和准确性”的观点和研究方法的否认。相反，两者之间互为补充，不可分割。既重视对语言精确性的研究，又不忽视语言的模糊性，才能完整地把握语言变化的发展规律。
Human understanding of objective things is changing and complex, the complexity of the human language expression is characterized by uncertainty and ambiguity. This ambiguity of language is very common, which arouses more and more linguists’ attention. This article attempts to analyze the phenomenon of certain English languages to show that the vagueness of language is the inherent essential attribute of language development and change as well as the vitality of language. But at the same time, we emphasize that the study of the ambiguity of language is by no means a denial of the viewpoints and research methods of the “accuracy and accuracy” of language. On the contrary, the two are complementary and indivisible. It not only pays attention to the study of linguistic accuracy, but also ignores the vagueness of language to fully grasp the law of the development of linguistic change.
