黄楸(Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey)系紫葳科的落叶乔木,是我国速生用材树种之一。原产黄河和长江流域一带,以山东、陕西、山西、江西、江苏等省分布比较普遍。黄楸的树干粗直高大,树高可达25米,胸径可达1米。木材不翘不裂,耐腐力强,易加工,切面光滑,纹理通直,花纹美观,是造船、桥梁、枕木、矿柱等建筑用材和良好的农具、家具用材。树皮、种子可入药,主治各种疮疥等症,花可炒食或提取芳香油。
Catalpa bungei C.A.Mey is a deciduous tree of the Aster family, which is one of the fast growing timber species in our country. Native Yellow River and the Yangtze River area, to Shandong, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and other provinces more generally distributed. Arborvitae tall straight trunk, tree height up to 25 meters, diameter up to 1 meter.
