According to a semantic principle hypothesized by Japanese scholar Kurihara Kobayashi, the American scholar Derk Bodde deduces that some of the important points recorded in the Book of Records of the Emperor Shih-Ch’i Shih-tsu were most likely to have been angered by the anonymous author after the death of Sima, . If this allegation can be settled, the historic value of the book of Historical Records of Emperor Qin Shi Huang Shi Ji and even the Book of Historical Records will undoubtedly face severe challenges. Some critical incidents and problems in the history of the Qin Dynasty will need to be re-recognized. This article starts from the case study of Shiji, and proves that there are major flaws in the hypothesis and argumentation process of Kurihara O believers. Therefore, Debu’s inference based on Kurihara’s theory can not be established.
