The most important property of aqueous silicic acid is its self-polymerization. Work in this area Ilet has been discussed in his monograph; Dai Anbang et al. Through systematic research, proposed two kinds of polymerization mechanism of silicic acid at different acidity, as well as the quantitative formula of silicic acid polymerization. Much of the work reported has focused on the polymerization at high silicon concentrations, and studies of solutions of very low silicon content (well below the solubility of SiO 2) that have important practical implications in aftertreatment of nuclear fuel
