杠杆在实际生活中有着广泛的应用,在初中物理教学中占有重要地位.杠杆的定义:是:一根硬棒,在力的作用下如果能绕着固定点转动,这根硬棒就叫杠杆.研究杠杆就伴随着转动,转动是运动学中有别于直线和曲线运动的一种新的运动形式,伴随着这种形式,将有新的物理量的出现.力与支点的位置不同转动的效果不同,故引入支点、力臂、力.初中研究的是转动中最基本形式平衡——即静止或匀速转动.
