As a female writer and a pioneer of North American Chinese literature, daffodils face double dilemmas in literary creation: the dilemma of female writing and marginalized writing in the 19th century. To be specific, the challenge that she wanted to challenge was the male-dominated and western-led social ideology and writing system. By using the dual identities of a female writer and an ethnic Chinese writer, she was able to break away from the “lurking silence and systematic race oppression”. The greater the pressure, the greater the significance of narcissus writing and the greater the justice of writing. Therefore, our thinking on the value of daffodil works can not be separated from the analysis of her writing difficulties.
