位于安徽省潜山县西部的天柱山,又名潜山、皖山,主峰海拔为1488.4米。天柱山因独特的自然景观,名列安徽省三大名山之一。天柱山不算高,但是主峰高耸挺立,如巨柱擎天,雄伟壮观,擎天立地,气势非凡,凸现了山的阳刚之美,让人赞之不绝。平常看天柱峰,只见它瘦骨嶙峋,脉纹清晰,就像一位修炼得道的仙家。而在日出日落时分看天柱峰,又见霞光裹身,熠熠生辉,更像那青春焕发的美丽仙姑。若在云起雾涌时看天柱峰,则是云雾缭绕,神秘莫测,俨然成了云海中的一座琼岛仙
