座落于土默川平原中部的云中城,是内蒙古自治区历史上有文字记载的第一座城池。其始建于战国赵武侯时期,后赵武灵王在此设云中郡,并以云中城作为郡治,秦汉、魏晋南北朝时期一直沿用,三国时期有过短暂的废弃阶段。作为连接阴山南北的重要枢纽,自战国至北魏末年云中城成为历代王朝一直争夺的要地。至北魏末年,伴随着其政治地位的下降、经济的衰退、战争的摧残等因素,云中城逐渐走向了衰落。
Located in the middle of the Tumochuan plain cloud in the city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is the first documented history of the city. It was founded in the Warring States period of Wuhou Wu, after the king of the set of Zhao Wuling county in the cloud, and to the cloud in the city as a county, Qin and Han dynasties, Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties has been in use, the Three Kingdoms period has been a short period of abandonment. As an important hub connecting the Yinshan north and south, from the Warring States Period to the Northern Wei Dynasty cloud in the city has become the dynasty has been fighting for the place. By the end of the Northern Wei Dynasty, with the decline of its political status, the economic recession and the devastation of the war, the cloud-in city gradually went down.
