赫哲民歌源于赫哲人与生俱来的对自然万物强烈的表达欲望,是由这个民族的民族性格、文化底蕴决定的。赫哲民歌随着赫哲人民文明的进程而演进。其主要以口头形式流传,内容比较短小,字句也比较整齐,它就像一面明镜,纵向地反映了各个时代的社会风貌、人民的思想、感情、愿望与审美情趣,反射着赫哲人民最真实的社会生活状态,是原汁原味的赫哲人的原生态写照。
