[Japan’s “Atomic Energy Perspectives” No. 1 report in 2008] The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry reached an agreement with domestic power companies and developers in September 2007 and decided to start developing the next generation of light water reactors in 2008. After 20 years, the Japanese government once again included the development of light water reactors as a national item.
