On March 27, 2015, South Korea’s Ministry of Planning and Finance issued a communique to apply for joining Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as the founding member. As a long-time ally and object-dependent United States, South Korea lurked all kinds of obstacles to submit its application as the founding partner of the AIIB at the close of the application deadline and was approved by the AIIB on April 13, 2015, officially becoming a founding member of the AIIB.
