Although VoIP is highly regarded by the industry, this technology is not the only way to deliver voice over packet-switched networks and in some applications it is not even the best approach. In addition to VoIP, there is another option, called Circuit Emulation Services over Packet (CCE), a packet network circuit emulation service, which can also achieve cost and efficiency benefits. Zarlink recently held a seminar to share with its attendees how CESoP technology delivers circuit-switched communications over packet networks and how it operates over Ethernet wired, wireless and optical equipment.
