齿轮强度的可靠性设计是从实际情况出发,将所涉及的工程变量如载荷,材料强度及齿轮的几何尺寸都看成是属于某种概率分布的统计量,应用概率论与数理统计及强度理论,推导出在给定的设计条件下轮齿不发生破坏的概率的公式,应用这些公式就可以在给定可靠度下确定零件的主要尺寸。可靠性设计准则为P(强度>应力)≡R(t)≥R (3)其中:P:为强度大于应力的概率;R:所需的可靠度;t:齿轮的使用寿命期的时间或循环次数。上式即表示强度超过应力的概率必须大于或等于预先规定的可靠度。
