99式主战坦克99式主战坦克是中国自行研制的第三代主战坦克,该坦克可分为初期型和改进型。其中,初期型于1999年国庆50周年阅兵式首次亮相。而改进型则在近年的多次军事演习和建军80周年成就展上公开展示。99式主战坦克装有大口径滑膛炮、自动装弹机、指挥仪式火控系统、复合装甲、大功率发动机等先进设备,其火力、机动性和防护性远远优于59式、69式、79式、88式等国产坦克,战斗力接近国际一流主战坦克。99式改进型主战坦克则是其批量生产型,最大改进之处在于:车首正面和炮塔正面及侧面安装了国产反应装甲,极大提高了防御破甲弹和穿甲弹的能力,防护能力接近于西方主战坦克。
