拔除上颌牙常见的并发症是将牙齿及其断根掉入上颌窦内。本文所报导的拔牙而将牙推入颞下窝的病例是罕见的。患者七年前拔除阻生右上颌第三磨牙,手术失败。术中牙根未完整取出,术后该区局部炎症反应达六个月之久,经抗炎治疗及切开引流后症状始消失、一月来右颊肿疼,张口受限、临床检查右颊稍肿;张口度为33毫米,X片显示上颌骨深部有一埋伏牙,经断层片诊断牙齿很可能不是在上颌窦内,而是刚巧在上颌窦后壁的颞下窝内。
