[本刊讯]2003年9月26日,由中央文明办、民政部、国家新闻出版总署联合主办的“万家社区图书室援建和万家社区读书活动”在全国正式启动。这项活动的宗旨是:贯彻落实中央关于全面推进社区建设的精神,促进城市基层组织建设和学习型社区建设,用先进文化占领社区文化宣传阵地,丰富和活跃社区居民文明健康的文化生活,促进城市社会的文明进步。
[Press Release] On September 26, 2003, 10,000 Community Library Aid and Wan Community Reading Activities jointly sponsored by the Central Civilization Office, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the State Press and Publication Administration were officially launched throughout the country. The purpose of this activity is to implement the spirit of the Central Government on promoting community building in an all-round way, promote the construction of grassroots organizations and learning communities in urban areas, use advanced culture to occupy propaganda positions in communities, enrich and revitalize the civilized and healthy cultural life of community residents, and promote Civilization and progress in urban society.
