《星际迷航》和其他影片中显示,牵引光束是一种利用光束牵引飞船和其他大型物体的方法.但科学家已经成功研制出可用于医学检测的牵引光束.研究人员表示,尽管光处理技术从20世纪70年代就已经存在,但这是首次利用光束把物体引向光源,只是这是在微观水平上实现的.英国圣安德鲁斯大学和捷克斯洛伐克科学仪器研究所(ISI)的科研组表示,他们制成的激光已经能让漂在水里的小球体移动.改变光的偏振方式,可以改变球体移动的方向.他们还发现,在特定大小时,这些球体在移动期间会自动整整齐齐地排成一行,在光的影响下跳跃前进.这种技术有望促使更加有效的医疗检测方法诞生,例如血样检查.通常情况下,当物质和光接触时,固体物质会被光束推开并被光子流带走.
