李宝林1936年生于吉林四平,祖籍山东平度。1963年毕业于中央美术学院中国画系,1963-1990年任海军专职画家,1990年调任中国画研究院(今中国国家画院)。现为中国国家画院一级美术师、院务委员,中国美术家协会中国画艺委会副主任,中国美术家协会河山画会会长,李可染艺术基金会副理事长。
Li Baolin was born in 1936 in Siping, Jilin Province, native of Shandong Pingdu. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1963 and was a full-time painter of the Navy from 1963 to 1990. In 1990, he was transferred to the Chinese Painting Academy (now China National Academy of Painting). He is now an artist and member of the State Art Academy of China, the deputy director of the Chinese Painting and Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, the chairman of the River Painting Society of the Chinese Artists Association, and the vice-chairman of the Li Keran Art Foundation.
