Carbon fiber roving production and further processing of fiber-reinforced composite materials will produce carbon fiber filament waste and curly fabric, non-curly fabric trim. These wastes are suitable as a new, high quality material for the production of fiber-reinforced composites. The CAMISMA project develops aerodynamic nonwovens production technology and applies it to the continuous production of carbon fiber nonwovens. Fiber length is a concern for crushing and characterizing carbon fibers. Crush 3 different cutting parts for testing. In order to determine the characterization of carbon fiber length, three different methods were compared.
