巍巍太行东麓,粼粼柏坡湖畔,葱茏秀美的坛坛垴下,拥抱着一个占地面积16440平方米的大院,这里不仅有毛泽东、刘少奇、周恩来、朱德、任弼时等领袖的旧居,还有军委作战室、九月会议会址、七届二中全会旧址、中央机关小学旧址,以及许多工作人员和警卫人员宿舍,此外还有一户民房。许多人认为这就是当年毛泽东和党中央在西柏坡时的原貌,其实不然。1959年,因当地兴建岗南水库,中共中央旧址和周围几十个村庄均被淹没,成了一片汪洋。现在大家看到的,是搬迁复原后的西柏坡中共中央旧址,或者说是个浓缩化了的景点。
