US chip giant Intel recently announced the acquisition of another chip maker Surpass semiconductor company. This is the third case of a major merger involving US chip companies released this year, reflecting the wave of consolidation in the chip industry. Intel, the No. 1 chipmaker in the world, has taken a $ 16.7 billion takeover bid to set the record for its largest acquisition in 47 years. Intel is taking the lion’s share of the PC and data center server chip markets and is looking to expand its mobile market share.
