At present, the problem of the increase in juvenile suicide among Korean youth has aroused widespread concern from all walks of life. According to figures released by the Korean Ministry of Education, in 1995, the number of suicides among middle school students was 188, and in 1996 it was 191. In the previous semester this year, 81 people gave up suicide. Analysts said that various forms of family breakups are the number one killers of young people’s suicide.
