In recent years, our province has thoroughly implemented the strategy of invigorating the province through science and education, continuously deepened the reform of the scientific and technological system, strengthened the capability of independent innovation, and vigorously developed the high-tech industries, laying a solid foundation for the construction and improvement of the regional innovation system. At present, there are 2.48 million professionals of various kinds in the province, 382,000 people engaged in scientific and technological activities, 85 academicians of both institutes, 94 colleges and universities, and enrollment in 2002
