《莎士比亚传论》终于出版了,当我将样书捧到本书作者赵澧教授手上时,心中感到无比的骄傲。莎士比亚,这位16世纪末17世纪初的文坛巨人,对于中国读者是那么熟悉而又遥远。人们一遍遍地翻读他的作品,但关于他的生平,关于他的作品的创作背景,却知之甚少。这不可避免地影响了对他的作品的理解和接受。现在,由中国人写的《莎士比亚传论》出版了,现在,人人都可以同作者一起走近莎士比亚,探寻莎士比亚人生的踪迹。
The Shakespearean Biography was finally published, and I felt immense pride in my hand when I held a handbook on the hand of the author, Professor Zhao Ying. Shakespeare, the literary giants of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, is so familiar and distant to Chinese readers. People read his work over and over again, but he did not know much about his life and the creative background of his work. This inevitably affected the understanding and acceptance of his work. Now that the “Shakespearean Biography,” written by the Chinese, is published, everyone can now walk with Shakespeare to discover traces of Shakespeare’s life.
