法相岩又名宝胜山、资胜山,位于武冈县城东法相岩乡境内。这里有8处岩洞,各个洞口岩壁都镌刻有一尺见方,端序挺秀,笔法娴熟的隶书洞名,它们分别是:栖真、上屏、太保、朝阳、迎阳、芙蓉、隐仙、花乳。各洞大小不一,错综复杂,却又相互贯通,形成洞中有洞,洞外又有洞的奇观,因而誉之以“法相洞天”的美称。洞内石钟乳笋遍布,千姿百态,景象万千,无一雷同,形成40多处形彩各异的景点,其中“石马恋槽”、“五蛇出洞”、“玉女妆台”、“珍珠塔”、“瞻花楼”、“岩中飞瀑”、“擎天一柱”、“觅海龟”等十余景点最引人入胜。其余如狮、如虎、如象、如猿,或形象逼真,或任人想象,令人神往。
