殷桂娣是近几年活跃在新疆书坛的一位女书法家。她祖籍江苏镇江,个头不高,眉清目秀,有着江南女子的温婉与细腻,也具备西北人的豪气与大方。殷桂娣从小喜欢写写画画,年少时没有机会学练书法,一直是她心中一大憾事。2009年3月,退休后的殷桂娣听到新疆老年大学书法班招生的好消息,便毫不犹豫地为自己报了名。课上,殷桂娣专心致志地听讲,认真做笔记,是班里思维最活跃的学员,只要有不懂的问题就虚心向老师和其他学员请教。回家后也丝毫不放松,
