On June 22, 1989, I and Junya Atsumi visited and gave speeches at the Inland Asiatic Institute of Mongolia, University of Cambridge. Based on our knowledge, we present an overview of the institute and the British Mongolian Association. Needless to say, Cambridge University is the second oldest university in the United Kingdom. Its origins date back to when the college was first established in 1284 and in 1318 it was recognized by the Pope as a university. The University of Cambridge’s Mongolia and Inner Asia Studies Unit was established in May 1986. In the UK, Mongolian studies are mainly conducted at the Scbool of Or -iental and African Studies University of London and the University of Leeds. Professor C.
