First, after two years of brewing, the International Maritime Organization will launch the Code of Marine Accident Investigations. It is expected to be submitted to the next session of the Maritime Commission for discussion. Although some international conventions promulgated by the International Maritime Organization, such as the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea and the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, all require flag States to submit maritime reports to the International Maritime Organization so as to learn from them.
