湖北省荆州市是典型的多民族散杂居地区,现有52个民族,常住少数民族人口4.75万人,少数民族流动人口每年约5000人次。近年来,荆州市紧紧围绕“中华民族一家亲,同心共筑中国梦”的主题,按照民族团结进步创建活动“进机关、进企业、进社区、进乡镇、进学校、进宗教活动场所”的要求,不断深化民族团结进步创建活动,有力地推动了全市民族团结进步事业的不断发展,使平等、团结、互助、和谐的民族关系得到进一步巩固。
