当前,汽车制造正向轻量化和高强化发展。由于我国木材资源缺乏,以钢代木制造车箱已势在必行。16MnXt冷轧板就是利用我国富有稀土资源生产的适用于汽车制造上冲压成型和滚压成型部件的新型低合金冷轧钢板。从1981年开始,鞍钢与长春第一汽车制造厂合作,在原来生产16MnXt汽车用钢的基础上,改进了稀土加入方法,生产了1.2,1.5和2.0mm厚的冷轧钢板(带),由长春第一汽车制造厂试制载重汽车车箱
