塔吉克斯坦园艺、葡萄和蔬菜科研所瓦赫什地区亚热带作物试验站,自1975年开始研究不同肥料类型、用量对甜瓜的生长、产量、品质及果实耐藏性的影响.结果表明,氮肥对甜瓜营养器官的生长影响很大.亩施氮肥13.33公斤的,甜瓜嫩枝长度平均较对照长31.5%;同时施用氮肥(13.33公斤/亩)、磷肥(13.33公斤/亩)和钾肥(6.67公斤/亩)的,则比对照长71.3%.亩施厩肥2.67吨、氮肥6.67公斤、磷肥6.67公厅,钾肥6.0公斤时,植株叶量最多,而不施厩肥只施化肥的处理,植株生长较差.
