“情韵”是画家的人生感悟,是生活的体验,是对事物的认知反映,也是一种把生活中的体验与感悟在心灵深处的升华,更是厚积薄发的心灵迹化。而中国传统艺术的高妙之处在于“情韵”、传神、写意。王发星先生就是这样一位充满激情和赋有情韵的艺术家。从艺30年来的每一段生活经历中,都构成了他生命中的朵朵精彩浪花。他深受中国传统艺术的熏陶,把绘画、书法、诗词、篆刻当成人生的乐事,勤于耕耘。他认为:“艺术创作在于新,在于奇,任何类型的重复和模仿都毫无价值”。他喜欢当灵感到来的一刹那挥毫作画,因为只有这时艺术家的想象力才放射出永恒不灭的光辉,正如英国诗人勃莱克的诗中所写:“一花一世界,一沙一天国。君掌盛无边,刹那含永劫。”
