随着改革开放的不断深入和科学技术的迅猛发展,科学教育与人文教育的融合与共生已成为当代高等教育的必然要求。国际交往的日益频繁与深入大大促进了外语教学,尤其是大学英语教学得到空前的发展,取得了可喜的成绩。但同时也越来越暴露出它的不足与负面影响,正如张中载所指出的:
With the deepening of reform and opening up and the rapid development of science and technology, the integration and coexistence of science education and humane education have become the inevitable requirements of contemporary higher education. The increasing frequency and depth of international exchanges has greatly promoted foreign language teaching, especially the unprecedented development of college English teaching and achieved gratifying results. But at the same time more and more reveal its inadequacies and negative effects. As Zhang Zhongzai pointed out,
