[International Nuclear Project, July 2004] After a full day of discussions on national energy policy, the Hungarian Academy of Engineering published a statement in support of the development of the country’s nuclear industry. According to a statement issued by the Academy of Engineering Sciences following a statement on fossil fuels, renewable energy and nuclear energy, Hungary should continue the development of nuclear energy as a high-priority program, including the development of innovative reactors. The Academy of Engineering Sciences is in favor of extending the operational life of 4 units at the Baks NPP.
