三北防护林工程是我国改革开放初兴建的一项大型林业生态工程,对改善三北地区生态环境有其巨大的历史意义和现实作用,在中华民族乃至整个世界林业建设史上都可称为一大创举。三北防护林建设20年来,已取得了巨大阶段性成果,完成造林面积2000多万 hm~2,森林覆盖率由5.05%提高到9%。治理水土流失面积1200万 hm~2。目前三北防护林工程建设还存在一些亟待解决的问题,特别是造林难度更大,任务更加艰巨。
The Three-North Shelterbelt Project is a large-scale forestry ecological project that was started at the beginning of the reform and opening up in China. It has a tremendous historic and practical role in improving the ecological environment in the Three North Regions. It can be described as a major in the history of forestry construction in the Chinese nation and the entire world pioneering. Over the past 20 years since the establishment of the Three-North Shelterbelt Program, great achievements have been made. The afforestation area has reached more than 20 million hm 2 and the forest coverage rate has risen from 5.05% to 9%. Soil and water erosion control area 12 million hm ~ 2. At present, there are still some urgent problems to be solved in the construction of the Three North Shelterbelt Project. In particular, the afforestation is even more difficult and the task is more arduous.
